Board of Directors:
We of Eldred Township and surrounding areas have specific and
prudent concerns of the quality and quantity of the water supply
serving our community due to the extraction process that Deer Park /
Nestles plans to implement. The following are some of the key
informational issues and concerns we want to offer in hopes that we
can gather your support to stop this intrusion and the harvesting
of our most precious resource WATER.
Nestles proposes extracting an average 200,000 gallons PER DAY
Traffic and traffic safety is a concern. An estimated 60 trucks
will pass on our local roads per day.
Are Municipal and State roads designed to withstand the weight and
Noise from a 24/7 operation.
No Eldred jobs would be created.
Concerns with residents' wells being negatively affected.
If there was an issue with a resident's well, the resident would
have to "prove" it was Nestles' fault.
Nestles has confirmed that extraction would continue in drought
Would the flow/volume of the Buckwha be reduced to the point that
it would not be able to support the current ecosystem?
Nestles' has not been a good neighbor in other areas of the US.
Will Eldred be subjected to the
conditions that are now taking place in California?
For information on the protection of water supplies, Google Blue
Gold: World Water Wars. It is a full length film that details
concerns of our water supply and who is controlling it.
